Editorial Policy

How PlanivestFin researches, verifies, and publishes financial content — and what we do when we get something wrong.

Our Editorial Mission

PlanivestFin exists to give Indian salaried employees accurate, actionable financial information — without jargon, without hidden agendas, and without requiring them to trust us blindly. Our editorial mission is to publish content that is correct, current, and genuinely useful for the decisions our readers are actually making.

Finance is a YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) topic. Errors in our content can cost readers real money. We take that responsibility seriously and maintain clear standards for how content is produced and reviewed.

Research and Verification Standards

Every article published on PlanivestFin follows these research standards:

Primary Source First

Regulatory claims — tax rules, SEBI regulations, RBI policies, EPFO rules — are verified against official primary sources. We do not rely on secondary summaries for factual claims. Primary sources include: SEBI circulars, RBI notifications and FAQs, PIB press releases, PFRDA guidelines, official EPFO communications, and Ministry of Finance announcements.

Announced vs Notified

We clearly distinguish between changes that have been officially notified and come into force versus changes that have been announced but are pending notification or implementation. Where uncertainty exists, we say so explicitly.

Calculator Methodology

All calculator formulas are documented in our About page. Formulas are consistent with standards from AMFI, RBI, PFRDA, and the Income Tax Act. Calculator outputs are projections, not guarantees — we state this clearly on every calculator page.

Market Data Verification

Interest rates, FD comparisons, gold prices, and other market data are sourced from official bank websites, RBI data releases, and verified financial publications. Time-sensitive data is dated so readers know when it was last verified.

AI Tool Usage

We use AI tools as research and drafting assistants. All financial data, regulatory claims, and calculations produced with AI assistance are independently verified against primary sources before publication. We do not publish AI-generated figures without verification.

Editorial Independence

PlanivestFin does not accept payment to feature, recommend, or positively represent any financial product, fund house, bank, broker, or institution. Our comparisons and analysis reflect independent assessment of publicly available information.

Where we have affiliate relationships — for example, links to financial platforms through which we may earn a referral fee if a reader signs up — these relationships are disclosed in the relevant content. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial assessments. We do not recommend products solely because they offer a commission.

Advertisers, where present on the site, have no influence over our editorial content. No advertiser may request that we change, remove, or favourably present any content in exchange for advertising spend.

Content Review and Updates

Financial regulations, tax rules, and market conditions change. Content that was accurate at publication can become outdated. We address this through:

Articles affecting time-sensitive decisions (tax deadlines, FD rates, regulatory rule changes) are reviewed when underlying data changes and updated with a revised date.

Evergreen articles (investment principles, calculator methodology, financial concepts) are reviewed annually or when significant regulatory changes affect their accuracy.

News and current events articles are dated and not retroactively updated — readers should treat them as records of the situation at the time of publication.

All updated articles display a "Last reviewed" date so readers know the currency of the information.

Corrections Policy

We make errors. When we do, we correct them promptly and transparently.

For factual errors — wrong figures, outdated regulatory information, incorrect calculations — we update the article and add a correction note stating what was changed and when. We do not silently edit articles to hide mistakes.

For significant errors that may have caused a reader to make a poor financial decision, we will note the correction prominently at the top of the article, not just at the bottom.

To report an error or request a correction, write to us at contact@planivestfin.com with the article URL and the specific claim you believe is incorrect, along with a primary source supporting your correction. We respond to all genuine correction requests within 2 business days.

Financial Advice Disclaimer

PlanivestFin is an information and calculator platform. Nothing published on this site — articles, calculator outputs, comparisons, or guides — constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or tax advice.

Our content is designed to inform and educate. Specific financial decisions — how much to invest, which instruments to choose, how to structure your taxes — should be made in consultation with a SEBI-registered investment advisor, a certified financial planner, or a qualified chartered accountant who understands your complete financial situation.

Calculator projections are mathematical models based on assumed constant rates. Actual returns, especially for market-linked instruments, will differ from projections.
